About

Prior to becoming a full time sculptor, I spent 23 years designing and developing new products and packaging for major global companies including Johnson & Johnson and Kraft Foods. Communicating with form, color…graphics.

Communicating and hopefully connecting, via sculpture, has been an obvious move in the right direction. Steel surrounds me in my New Hope, PA studio. It is my partner in a journey to improve myself and connect with the world.

Steel is my material of choice. I am not sure if I chose it, or it chose me. Cold, hard, static…but with the potential to warm, move and engage. Steel is not afraid of change. It is different at every moment. I am learning a lot from it.

Grab on and enjoy the ride!!

Testimonials

"I  don't know if I can adequately express how much I love the 'ribbon of life.'  I feel that, through your sculptures, the backyard now tells a story.  For many years, I was dreaming of a backyard like the one that I currently have.  Your sculptures made it everything that I was dreaming of.  Thank you very much." - LH, collector

"I received the earrings! They are lovely ...! I feel like I'm wearing my sculpture! They are perfect!" - BBJ, collector

"This pin is a true work of art - deceptively simple, it is beautifully balanced, and the pin back ensures that it is precisely placed when worn. I love it." - JS, collector

Artist Statement

I express myself most naturally through sculpture. As I work, I am not forced to think about what words to use or what you might think about me. I allow myself to communicate with form, material, color…texture. Simplicity, tension, death, life. Sculpture provides me the opening I need to further connect.

My work is grounded in life. Evolution of man (or not), each moment’s potential for life or death, our individual energy. My desire to learn and grow as an individual, connect with people, my community and the world. Can I make myself lighter? These are things I push myself to face into every day and express through my work. It is grounded in what I am developing in myself or believe strongly about. It is, as I am, a work in progress

The forms invite you in and challenge you to see something more, to think. Are you living or dying, are you evolving and helping the world to evolve, are you connecting somehow to what is around you?

I encourage you to touch, spin, and pick up my work. The smoothness of the stone, the fit of the queen’s back against your thumb, the energy of Ki-netic. I want to engage your senses, your mind…and for a moment connect with you.
